Totesin, että tätä kirjan toista osaa en olisi lukenut ellen olisi sitä ilmaiseksi saanut. Ensimmäinen osa ei oikein vakuuttanut, mutta sen verran kuitenkin, että kun tämän ilmaiseksi sai, niin piti sitten kaikesta huolimatta ladata ja kurkistaa osuivatko ajatukseni oikeiksi.

Kokonaisuutena The Orlando File on helppolukuista englantia. Tekstiä lueskelee mielellään ja sen parissa viihtyy mainiosti tunnin tai pari. Mitään järisyttävää lukukokemusta ei kumpaisestakaan osasta kuitenkaan saa. Olo jää lukemisen jälkeen keskinkertaiseksi.

Toisessa osassa ensimmäisen osan puutteet jatkuvat. Henkilöhahmot ovat yhä varsin yksipuolisia ja varsinkin Kerrinin ja Danan välinen suhde alkaa ärsyttämään. Mies paapoo vaimoaan aivan liikaa, ja Dana on lähestulkoon ärsyttävä itkupilli. Muutkin hahmot tuntuvat vain “täyttävän tarpeensa”. Osan toimimiset herättävät ainakin minussa kysymyksiä…

Juoni taas… No, selvisi se mitä Orlando hoito oikein on. Ja sekin, miksi se halutaan pitää salassa. Mutta jälleen ne toimet, mitä salaisuuden pitämiseksi tehdään… Melkoista salaliittoa toisensa perään ja hulvatonta elokuvamaista menoa. Lopputuloksena viihteellistä, mutta ontohkoa tekstiä.
