Buyan on kiehtova sekoitus historiaa ja fantasiaa. Se rakentaa tarinansa historiaan ja kansanperinteeseen ja lisää sopivassa suhteessa mukaan omiaan. Kuten vaikka joidenkin henkilöhahmojen kohdalla. Lisäksi haluan ajatella, että jotkut todelliset hahmot ovat saaneet vähän lisää lihaa luittensa päälle.

Maailma on kuvattu rehellisesti ja todentuntuisesti. Eikä ihme, tiedämmehän kuitenkin melkoisesti historiasta. Perinteet on soljutettu mukaan kauniisti.

Tarina liikkuu hyvin. Se hyppelee Maansin ja tämän toverien välillä mutta viivähtää välillä myös kuninkaallisten ja mongolien joukoissa. Siirtymät ovat suoria, mutta ne on sijoitettu hyvin. Lukija ei ehdi pitkästymään. Etenkin kun tarina on mielenkiintoinen ja yllättää useammankin kerran.

Kuvitus on kaunis ja värit toimivat. Alkuun käytetty kieli tuntuu aavistuksen kankealta, mutta sitten tarina nappaa mukaansa.

Kaunis, erilainen. Pidän kovasti. Jään odottamaan jatkoa. Muille lukijoille suosittelen sarjakuvan lopussa olevaan sanastoon tutustumista lukemisen yhteydessä. Jotkut nimitykset aukeavat hieman paremmin...
