Albumi sisältää kolme tarinaa, joissa jokaisessa on oma "päähenkilönsä". Ensimmäisessä tutustutaan Nite Owliin. Kuinka nuori sankari sai innoituksensa ja kuinka hän päätyi siihen. Tapahtumat sivuavat hieman muitankin sankareita ja avaavat jännitteitä heidän välillää. Toisessa taas Dr. Manhattan pohtii aikaa ja olevaisuutta. Hän päätyy tekemään isoja ratkaisuja ja valintoja, jotka muuttavat maailmaa. Mukana myös muita tuttuja henkilöhahmoja. Kolmannessa taas seuraillaan yhtä maailman pahista. Tarina avaa Molochin syntyä ja elämää ja jännitteitä hänen ja sankareiden välillä. Mukana myös muutamia yllätyksiä.

Nämä tapahtumat sijoittuvat aikaan ennen The Watchmen -sarjakuvaa. Näissä kerrotaan synnystä, muutoksesta, rakkaudesta, katumuksesta... Sekä myös vihjaillaan asioihin, jotka johtivat kohti tapahtumia. Varsin mielenkiintoista luettavaa siis.

Kuvitus on realistista ja toimivaa. Sen verran väkivaltaa ja muuta sarjakuva sisältää, että en suosittele herkille. Kunnon salaliitoista ja supersankareista pitäville taas suosittelen ehdottomasti.
