Tämä englanninkielinen e-kirja on odottanut sähköisessä kirjahyllyssäni jo melkoisen tovin. Syynä lienee se, että yksi tarina on jaettu kahteen osaan. Se ei mielestäni ole kovinkaan mukavaa, etenkin jos toisen osan saa ilmaiseksi ja toisesta joutuu maksamaan. Nyt kuitenkin satuin huomaamaan, että toinenkin osa on (ainakin hetken) saatavilla ilmaiseksi Amazonista.

Luettuani ensimmäisen osan, olen hieman kahden vaiheilla. Toisaalta kirja on kirjoitettu hyvin, toisaalta se ei juoneltaan ja rakenteeltaan ole kovin kummoinen.

Kirjan teksti on luettavaa. Helppoa englantia, jossa pysyy hyvin perillä heikommallakin kielitaidoilla. Tapahtumat etenevät ripeää vauhtia, eikä lukija ehdi pitkästymään. Toisaalta taas monet tapahtumista ovat melko ennalta-arvattavia tai sitten jokseenkin epärealistisia. Vaikka mistäpä me tavalliset pulliaiset todella tiedämme, mitä kaikkea jotkut ovat oikeasti pystyviä tekemään…

Tässä ykkös osassa seikkaillaan vähän ympäri USA:n maita sekä myös Etelä-Afrikassa. Lukija pääsee seuraamaan sekä Kerrinin menoa, että myös “pahisten” toimia. Kirja on melkoista tutkimusta ja olettamusta toisensa perään. Sen sijaan itse Orlando-hoidosta ei vielä paljasteta paljoakaan, vaikka vihjeitä kyllä annetaan. Ne vihjeet eivät kyllä itsessään vielä riittäneet itselleni siihen, että olisin valmis maksamaan toisesta osasta.
