Memo itselle: tarkasta, että luet sarjakuvan osat oikeassa järjestyksessä. Asioissa on niin paljon enemmän järkeä. Tässä tapauksessa oikea järjestys on seuraava: The Empty Man (tämä), The Empty Man : Recurrence ja The Empty Man : Manifestation.
Sarjakuva liikkuu parissa eri ajassa. Se seuraa sitä, kuinka saarnaaja löytää “potilas 0:llan” ja mitä siitä seuraa. Samalla se myös tarkkailee kahta etsivää, joista kumpikin on sairas. Nämä etsivät koettavat löytää kadonneet lapset, joista povataan profeettoja. Nämä tapahtumat selventävät melkoisesti tilannetta ja maailmaa, jossa ihmiset elävät.
