The Dead Zone on kirja, jonka kohdalla hieman hämmennyin. Se on verkkainen ja oikeastaan takakannen mainitsemat merkittävät tapahtumat tapahtuvat kirjan eri päissä. Melko pian ollaan onnettomuudessa, mutta poliitikon tapaaminen tapahtuu taas melko lähellä loppua. Väliin mahtuu paljon kaikkea “normaalia” ja epänormaalimpaa.
Tarina etenee verkkaisesti. Se tunnelmoi ja nauttii. Vaikka kirja ei ole mitään suurta jännittävien tapahtumien ilotulitusta, viihtyy sen parissa oivallisesti. Se on mukava ajankuvaus, jossa on sopivasti käsittämätöntä.
Pidän Kingin tyylistä kirjoittaa. Vaihteeksi mukava makustella rauhaisaa ja ei kovin kauheaa tekstiä häneltä.
