Kirja on miltei kuin pienten lyhyiden novellien kokoelma. Ja näistä novelleista muodostuu lopulta tarina, kokonainen kertomus. Kirjassa on kaksitoista lyhyttä pätkää, joista jokainen kuvaa yhtä vuoden täysikuista. Yhtä “murhaa”. Kerronta on kepeähköä, miltei satumaista vaikka aiheet ovatkin sinällään julmia. Kokonaisuus on todella nopealukuinen ja kivan viihdyttävä. Helppoa englantia ja todella normaalia Kingiä kevyempää. Kuvitus on mukava lisä. Osa kuvista on värillisiä, osa mustavalkoisia.
